Arthur S. Colsky, M.D., Ph.D.
Board certified in dermatology and cutaneous surgery and specializing in acne treatment, Miami dermatologist Dr. Arthur Colsky earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Miami School of Medicine where he continues to serve on the clinical teaching faculty. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from Vanderbilt University where he also began his research interest in immunology. He continued his scientific studies at the University of Miami where he published numerous scientific articles and was the recipient of awards and distinctions for his research. While in medical school, Dr. Colsky was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society in recognition of his high academic performance. Following his internship in internal medicine, Dr. Colsky completed his residency training in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Colsky is an active member of the Acne and Rosacea Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and founder and medical director of the Advanced Acne Institute in Miami, Florida. At the Institute, Dr. Colsky practices as an acne dermatologist specializing in the management of all forms of acne, including hormonal acne treatment, facial acne treatment, treatment for cystic acne, back acne treatment and treatment of acne scars.
Varee Poochareon, M.D.
A Miami native, Dr. Varee N. Poochareon earned her undergraduate degree in Biology through the prestigious dual degree Honors Program in Medicine at the University of Miami, graduating cum laude, with minors in Religious Studies and in Geography and Regional Studies. At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Poochareon went on to receive her medical degree with Research Distinction. She was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (National Medical Honor Society) and awarded the “Best Student Award” in Dermatology, as well as the John K. Robinson Grant for Student Initiatives for her prolific research and many publications, most significantly in the areas of sun protection education and scars. Dr. Poochareon completed both her internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. During this time, she continued to publish peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and earned grants from the Women’s Dermatologic Society and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery for preceptorships in cosmetic dermatology and dermatology for ethnic skin. Dr. Poochareon is board-certified in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She enjoys national and international travel, cooking, and exercising in her spare time.
Kim Bango, M.D.
Kim Bango, M.D. is board certified in Family Medicine and a Certified Practitioner at the Advanced Acne Institute. Dr. Bango earned her medical degree from Universidad Central Del Este and completed her internship and residency in Family Medicine at Akron General Medical Center with a special interest in dermatology. She completed her certification in Advanced Acne Management at the Advanced Acne Institute and achieved Certified Practitioner status. Her focus on comprehensive care for patients with acne underlies her individualized approach for optimal treatment success. Dr. Bango is fluent in both English and Spanish. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and three young daughters, boating, and traveling..
